NZ institutes and courses are accredited by the New Zealand Qualification Authority (NZQA, it is responsible for approving and registering all courses and national qualifications offered at universities, polytechnics / institute of technologies and private training establishments). A bachelor’s degree in New Zealand takes about 3 years, and students can get an Honour’s degree after completing their graduation which is another year of study.
There are 10 levels of study in New Zealand schools and universities. The lowest level is a certificate course and the highest is a doctoral degree.
Level 1 to 4 - Certificates
Level 5 and 6 - Diplomas
Level 7 - Bachelor's degrees and graduate diplomas
Level 8 -Postgraduate certificates and diplomas, and bachelor's degrees with honors
Level 9 - Master's degrees
Level 10 - Doctoral degrees
An agreed set of criteria defines every qualification type. The criteria include: the level at which the qualification is listed the qualification’s purpose learning outcomes the number of credits required at each level Each of the different levels of each qualification type has a different purpose, outcomes, and credit requirements.
For all undergraduate programs, the admission is based on the marks scored in HSC with IELTS or TOEFL. To get admission in Master Program valid university degrees once can apply to different universities. There are no application fees to apply. The admission application and document is easier than any other foreign countries.
International students live on-campus in Halls of Residence, while others opt for a home stay with a local family, or live with friends in a rented flat /apartment / house. There are plenty of options available near all the institutes and university campuses. The student may select the type of accommodation as per need and budget.
Diploma / Advanced Diploma- 14,000 - 19,000 NZD per year
Bachelors – 18000 to 30000 NZD per year
Masters – 19000 to 32000 NZD per year
During the Job search visa the international student may plan their work visa and then after as per the skilled occupation list they can plan the further stay.
